The “Dongji Rescue” movie was released. Jörg was part of the music team of this 2025 Chinese historical war action movie. It is based on the real-life “Lisbon Maru” incident during World War II. The film tells the story of Chinese fishermen who risked their lives to save over 300 British prisoners of war. The Japanese transport ship carrying them was sunk in the waters near Zhoushan by the submarine “USS Grouper”.

Jörg provided custom designed synthesizer sounds and drum instruments to Icelandic composer Atli Örvarsson.
Jörg and Atli collaborated on numerous projects over the years going back to 2007. This included “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” movies and various TV shows including the “Chicago” TV shows and the latest “FBI” TV series.

The film is based on a true history of World War II. In 1942, a Japanese cargo ship “Lisbon Maru” carrying more than 1,800 British prisoners of war was torpedoed by an American submarine in the waters near the Zhoushan Islands. Nearby Dongji fishermen risked their lives to rescue some 300 British servicemen, and protected and rescued three Britons during a massive Japanese search. This history is known as the Lisbon Maru shipwreck.
